What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the higher advertising fee applies to offices located within the 11-county metropolitan area of the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. This area specifically includes the counties of Scott, Wright, Isanti, Dakota, Anoka, Hennepin, Washington, Carver, Ramsey, Sherburne, and Chisago. For franchisees operating within this defined area, the advertising fee is $60 per agent per month.

For a prospective Counselor Realty franchisee, this means that if their office, additional office, or extension office falls within the specified 11-county region, they will be subject to the higher advertising fee. This fee contributes towards the general marketing activities conducted by Counselor Realty. It is important to note that Counselor Realty retains the right to increase this advertising fee during the term of the agreement.

If a Counselor Realty office is located outside the Twin Cities metropolitan area, the franchisee will be part of a "Regional Advertising Group" and will pay a lower advertising fee of $25 per agent per month to the "Regional Advertising Fund." This lower fee, however, can be increased by a majority vote of the "Regional Advertising Committee" that manages the Regional Advertising Group. Therefore, the geographic location of the franchise significantly impacts the applicable advertising fees and the structure of advertising contributions.
