What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee applying to open an Extension Office outside of their designated territory must submit specific materials to Counselor Realty for review. These materials, collectively termed the "Extension Office Application Materials," include a request describing the location of the proposed Extension Office, any additional information Counselor Realty may require or request, and a one-time fee of $750 for each Extension Office location.
After Counselor Realty receives the Extension Office Application Materials, including the $750 fee, they have 30 days to review the application and the proposed location. Following this review period, Counselor Realty will notify the franchisee whether or not they consent to the opening of the Extension Office.
It's important to note that Counselor Realty's consent to any Extension Office location is contingent on the franchisee and Counselor Realty reaching a mutual agreement regarding the minimum number of sales agents that will operate from the Extension Office. Furthermore, any Extension Office that Counselor Realty consents to must comply with all requirements of the Franchise Agreement and the then-current System standards. This ensures that all Counselor Realty locations, including Extension Offices, maintain consistent standards and practices.
