What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Continuing Agent Fees are structured in tiers based on the number of licensed agents operating through a franchisee's office. The first tier includes the first five agents, who are covered by the Base Monthly Fee of $371.
For the sixth through the fifteenth licensed agent operating through the office, Counselor Realty charges a monthly Continuing Agent Fee of $53 per agent. This means that a franchisee will begin paying additional agent fees once they have more than five agents.
In practice, this tiered structure means that as a Counselor Realty franchisee's business grows and they add more agents, their fees to the franchisor will increase. The tiered system provides an incentive for franchisees to grow their agent base, while also ensuring that Counselor Realty receives additional revenue as the franchisee's business expands. The number of agents operating through an office is determined by the number of licensed agents listed with the Minnesota Department of Commerce on the first day of the month.
