What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the timing of initial and supplemental training is determined by mutual agreement between Counselor Realty and the franchisee. Specifically, Counselor Realty will provide initial training, the amount of which is determined by Counselor Realty, for the franchisee and up to two key personnel. Supplemental initial and ongoing training is also available. These trainings will take place at a Counselor Realty office or another location designated by Counselor Realty, at any mutually convenient time.
It is important to note that while the timing is mutually agreed upon, the franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with the training. This includes a fee of $175 per trainer per hour, as well as all travel, living, and incidental expenses for both the franchisee/employees and the Counselor Realty trainers. These expenses could range from $0 to $750 per person per day, depending on travel requirements and other factors.
Prospective franchisees should consider these training costs when evaluating the Counselor Realty franchise opportunity. While the franchisor offers flexibility in scheduling, the franchisee bears the financial burden of the training itself. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, where franchisees typically pay for their own training and related expenses.
