What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor will send an invoice for the Continuing Agent Fee at the beginning of each month. This fee is based on the number of licensed agents operating through the franchisee's office. The franchisee is then required to pay the Continuing Agent Fee on or before the 20th day of that month.
This means that a Counselor Realty franchisee can expect to receive an invoice for Continuing Agent Fees at the start of each month, giving them approximately 20 days to remit payment. The amount due will fluctuate depending on the number of licensed agents affiliated with the office, with different fee tiers applying as the agent count increases. For example, the fee is $53 per agent for the 6th through 15th agent, $37 per agent for the 16th through 35th agent, and $32 per agent for the 36th and each additional agent.
It is important for prospective franchisees to understand how the Continuing Agent Fee is calculated, as it can represent a significant ongoing expense. Franchisees should also be aware that agents operating from any Additional Office or Extension Office locations will be included in the calculation of the Continuing Agent Fee. Therefore, careful planning and agent management are essential to controlling these costs and maintaining profitability.
