What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not currently required to have their websites approved by Counselor Realty before using them. However, Counselor Realty retains the right to review and approve a franchisee's website and can require alterations or cessation of use if the website does not meet their standards. This applies to the use of Counselor Realty's trademarks on the website, which must always conform to the requirements outlined in the Franchise Agreement.
This policy provides franchisees with some autonomy in developing their online presence while ensuring that all websites associated with Counselor Realty adhere to the brand's standards and image. Franchisees have the option to develop their own website as part of their overall promotion strategy. If Counselor Realty determines, in its sole discretion, that any website does not conform to Counselor Realty's brand standard or image, the franchisee will be directed in writing to alter or remove the website.
It is important for prospective franchisees to understand that while pre-approval is not currently mandated, Counselor Realty reserves the right to implement such a requirement in the future. Therefore, maintaining open communication with Counselor Realty regarding website development and adhering closely to brand guidelines is crucial for avoiding potential issues. This flexibility allows Counselor Realty to maintain brand consistency while giving franchisees some control over their marketing efforts.
