We reserve the right to establish and organize a "Regional Advertising Group" if your Office (including any Additional Officer or Extension Office) is located outside the Twin Cities. If your Office (including any Additional Officer or Extension Office) is located outside the Twin Cities, you must be a member of the "Regional Advertising Group" (once established) and pay to the "Regional Advertising Fund" an Advertising Fee equal to $25 per agent per month for each agent operating out of the Office, Additional Office or Extension Office located in such geographical area. What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Counselor Realty's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Regional Advertising Fund is administered by the Regional Advertising Committee. This committee is comprised of one representative from each franchisee-owned Counselor Realty office located outside of the Twin Cities area, along with three representatives from Counselor Realty itself.
This structure means that franchisees operating outside the Twin Cities have a direct say in how their advertising fees are spent, as they form a majority of the committee. The committee is responsible for coordinating the activities of the Regional Advertising Group. They also decide on creative work, media purchases, and the scope of advertising efforts.
For franchisees, this offers a degree of control over regional marketing strategies and expenditures. However, it's important to note that Counselor Realty also has representation on the committee, ensuring that the franchisor's interests are also considered in advertising decisions. The amount of monthly advertising fees for the Regional Advertising Group can be increased during the franchise term by a majority vote of the Regional Advertising Committee.
