What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not permitted to modify the Costa Vida Website. The document states that Costa Vida Management, LLC maintains control over the website's design and content. Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill has the right to modify or discontinue the website at any time without obligation or liability. Franchisees do not have the capability or right to alter the website.
This policy ensures brand consistency and uniformity across all Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill locations. By maintaining control over the website, Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill can ensure that customers receive accurate and consistent information about the franchise, its products, and services. This also allows Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill to manage its online presence and marketing efforts effectively.
While franchisees cannot modify the main Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill website, they are permitted to promote their restaurant online with the consent of Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill. However, franchisees cannot register domain names or use email addresses containing "Costa Vida" or variations of it without authorization. Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill will create a social media page for the franchise when it opens, and the franchisee's use of that page will be subject to Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill's policies and procedures. Franchisees are not allowed to create their own social media pages without prior written consent from Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill.
This approach is fairly typical in the franchise industry, where franchisors seek to maintain tight control over branding and marketing. Prospective Costa Vida Fresh Mexican Grill franchisees should be aware of these restrictions and factor them into their business planning, particularly regarding online marketing strategies.
