What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Corner Bakery Cafe's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Technology Fee is due monthly, along with the Royalty Fee. The Technology Fee is currently $400. This fee covers information technology support and access to Corner Bakery Cafe's technology platforms, intranets, extranets, websites, and future services that Corner Bakery Cafe makes available as detailed in the Manual.
Corner Bakery Cafe franchisees are required to participate in an electronic funds transfer program. This authorizes Corner Bakery Cafe to deduct amounts owed from the franchisee's business checking account, also known as the Electronic Depository Transfer Account (EDTA). This includes the Technology Fee, Royalty Fees, marketing fees, and Online Ordering Fee.
Corner Bakery Cafe reviews sales numbers at the end of each reporting period, which is a calendar month. They then calculate the Royalty Fee, marketing contributions and fees, and sweep these amounts from the EDTA on the 10th day of each month. The franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with establishing and maintaining the EDTA, including transaction and wire transfer fees. Therefore, the Technology Fee will be swept from the franchisee's EDTA on the 10th day of each month.
