trolling Principal must attend, and complete to our satisfaction, the Initial Training Program.
Your Controlling Principal, Operating Partner, Multi-Unit Manager, General Manager and three Managers of the Franchised Cafe (one of whom may be a Shift Supervisor if approved by us) and any other person designated by us (the "Required Trainees"), must attend, and become certified in, our Initial Training Program in the operation of a Cafe. The Initial Training Program will include one or more of the following: classroom instruction, eLearning programs, and training at our designated training facilities, which may be a Company-Owned Cafe that is located in Dallas, Texas or another market. If one of your Franchised Cafes has been certified as a Certified Training Cafe as discussed below, you will conduct the Initial Training Program at your Certified Training Cafe; provided however, that your Controlling Principal, Operating Partner and Multi-Unit Manager must attend the multi-unit orientation/owner orientation portion of the Initial
Training Program at our headquarters or such other location that we designate even if you have a Certified Training Cafe.
After the opening of the Franchised Cafe, any employee of yours who assumes any of the positions listed above or the position of Shift Supervisor must, before assuming that position, attend the Initial Training Program and receive our certification for that position. If we provide the Initial Training Program to these additional employees, you must pay to us a training fee at the then-current rate being charged by us to franchisees for that training, and you are solely responsible for all meals, lodging and other living expenses and transportation costs incurred by your employees while attending the training.
The Initial Training Program will generally last up to five weeks for Controlling Principals, up to 15 weeks for Operating Partners and Multi-Unit Managers, up to 11 weeks for General Managers and Managers, and up to 10 weeks for Shift Supervisors. We offer the Initial Training Program during the year on an asneeded basis.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Initial Training Program for Corner Bakery Cafe can take place at several locations. The training may be held at Corner Bakery Cafe's designated training facilities, which include a Company-Owned Cafe located in Dallas, Texas, or potentially another market.
Another option is for the training to occur at one of the franchisee's own Corner Bakery Cafe locations, provided that the location has been certified as a 'Certified Training Cafe.' However, even if a franchisee has a Certified Training Cafe, the Controlling Principal, Operating Partner, and Multi-Unit Manager are still required to attend the multi-unit orientation/owner orientation portion of the Initial Training Program at Corner Bakery Cafe's headquarters or another designated location.
If a franchisee operates three or more Corner Bakery Cafe locations, they are obligated to establish and maintain one of their cafes as a Certified Training Cafe within 90 days of opening their third location. This cafe will then be used to offer the Initial Training Program to their employees and provide opening training for future Corner Bakery Cafe franchises that they develop. If the franchisee does not have a Certified Training Cafe, the Required Trainees must attend the Initial Training Program at a training facility designated by Corner Bakery Cafe, which may be a Cafe operated by Corner Bakery Cafe or its affiliates.
