Note 8: Work Vehicle – You are not required to utilize a work vehicle as a part of the Franchised Business except in limited circumstances where a particular client requires that you or your employees utilize a specific vehicle in connection with providing the Approved Products and Services for the client. The low end of this estimate assumes you do not need any work vehicle in connection with the operation of the Franchised Business. The high end of this estimate is for three months of lease installment payments for one work vehicle. If a client requires that you maintain a work vehicle, the payments may be an on-going expense throughout the term of your agreement with the client. The work vehicle must meet the client's standards and specifications, including any requirement a client may have that the vehicle be registered and insured as a commercial vehicle.
Note 9: Start-Up Marketing Expense – You must spend a minimum of $13,000 to $40,000 prior to and during the initial three month period following the opening your Cordova Business.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cordova's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a work vehicle is generally not required for the operation of a Cordova franchise. The FDD specifies that a work vehicle is only necessary in limited situations where a client specifically requires it for providing approved products and services.
The estimated initial investment for a Cordova franchise reflects this, with the cost for a work vehicle ranging from $0 to $8,000. The lower end assumes no vehicle is needed, while the higher end covers three months of lease payments for one vehicle. This cost is incurred 'as arranged' and paid to a vehicle dealer.
If a client mandates a work vehicle, the franchisee will bear the ongoing expense for the duration of the agreement with that client. Furthermore, the vehicle must adhere to the client's standards and specifications, including registration and insurance as a commercial vehicle if required. Therefore, while not a universal requirement, franchisees should be prepared to potentially acquire and maintain a work vehicle based on client demands.
