What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cordova's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if Cordova previously approved a supplier and that supplier's standards subsequently fall below Cordova's designated standards, Cordova will revoke its approval. Cordova will notify franchisees in writing if it revokes approval of a supplier.
This is a standard practice in franchising, as franchisors need to maintain quality control and consistency across all franchise locations. By requiring franchisees to purchase from approved suppliers, Cordova can ensure that all locations are using the same quality of products and services. This protects the brand's reputation and ensures a consistent customer experience.
It is important for prospective franchisees to understand the implications of these restrictions. While it ensures quality, it also limits the franchisee's ability to shop around for the best prices. Franchisees should inquire about the criteria Cordova uses to approve suppliers and the process for appealing a decision to revoke approval. Understanding these factors can help franchisees make informed decisions about their business and manage their costs effectively.
