What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cordova's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Operations Manual contains mandatory and suggested specifications, standards, and operating procedures that Cordova prescribes for its businesses. Franchisees must operate their franchised business in strict accordance with what is set forth in the Operations Manual, including approved services and products, system supplies, and authorized and designated suppliers. These standards, specifications, and requirements are effective as of the Franchise Agreement date and may be supplemented, modified, changed, and/or replaced in the future. Franchisees must maintain the confidentiality of the Operations Manual and keep all files, data, and information contained within it secure. The master copy and official version of the Operations Manual is maintained and designated by Cordova.
Cordova will provide franchisees with reasonable notice of any modifications and changes made to the Operations Manual, potentially through electronic communications or notifications on an online platform. Franchisees will be given a reasonable period of time to implement these changes. Franchisees are only allowed to offer and sell approved services and products and use system supplies as designated by Cordova in the Operations Manual. These must align with the terms, specifications, and requirements outlined in the manual, as it may be updated.
The Cordova manual includes a detailed table of contents, outlining various sections such as the introduction to the manual, Cordova overview, and franchise operations. The introduction covers topics like ownership, purpose, keeping the manual current, using it for organization, and submitting suggestions. The Cordova overview includes the history of the organization, the support team (including roles like CEO, CDO, and Director of Operations), the organizational chart, philosophy and principles (mission, vision, core values, differentiators), branding (logos, colors, guidelines, proprietary marks, domain URLs, materials and copyrights, and competition), computer software and hardware, and employee/franchisee relationships.
Franchise operations information includes the role of the franchisee (full-time effort, operating another business, organizational chart examples), the franchise onboarding program (establishment of business, equipment and supplies, financial setup and management, operations setup, Cordova training, conferences/conventions, and President's Club), products/services offered, and the recommended franchisee team structure. This level of detail in the Cordova Operations Manual suggests that Cordova places a strong emphasis on standardized procedures and brand consistency across all franchise locations.
