What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cordova's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to comply with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations. This obligation extends to laws concerning client and employee privacy, protection of client and employee information and data, and solicitations. This means a Cordova franchisee must actively monitor and adhere to all legal requirements relevant to their business operations.
Furthermore, the franchisee is obligated to immediately inform Cordova in writing of any notices of violation of any law, ordinance, code, permit, or regulation. This includes any cause of action, claim, lawsuit, proceeding, or investigation, as well as any order, writ, injunction, award, or decree issued by any court, agency, or other governmental entity. This ensures that Cordova is aware of any legal issues that may affect the franchise or the brand's reputation.
In addition to general legal compliance, Cordova franchisees must also comply with Anti-Terrorism Laws. Franchisees must ensure that neither they nor their owners' properties or interests are subject to being "blocked" under any Anti-Terrorism Laws and that they are not in violation of any such laws. Failure to comply with these requirements can lead to termination of the franchise agreement.
