What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cordova's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at the annual conference is mandatory if Cordova offers one in a given year. Franchisees are responsible for their own travel and lodging expenses to attend the conference. Cordova reserves the right to charge franchisees an annual conference attendance fee, even to those who do not attend, with the fee not exceeding $1,000 per attendee.

Cordova will not require franchisees to attend an annual conference for more than five days during any calendar year. This mandatory attendance ensures that franchisees stay updated on the latest company strategies, network with other franchisees, and receive additional training, which Cordova deems essential for maintaining brand consistency and operational standards.

While attendance is mandatory, the financial burden on the franchisee is somewhat capped. The conference fee cannot exceed $1,000, and the duration is limited to five days. However, franchisees must factor in travel and lodging costs, which can vary depending on the conference location. The potential for Cordova to charge the fee even if a franchisee does not attend adds another layer of financial consideration.
