What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cordova's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the operating standards cover several aspects of the Cordova Business. These include the standards, procedures, and system requirements for operating the business, encompassing approved services and products, system supplies, and marketing and promotion standards. Cordova retains the discretion to designate, modify, supplement, and amend these standards as outlined in the manuals.
Cordova also establishes and updates standards for marketing and promotion, including the types of marketing media franchisees can use. Franchisees must seek approval for marketing media, and Cordova maintains full discretion over these standards. Additionally, Cordova provides a list of approved vendors and suppliers for approved services, products, and system supplies.
For a prospective franchisee, this means that Cordova has significant control over how the business is run and marketed. Franchisees must adhere to Cordova's standards and obtain approval for marketing materials. While this ensures brand consistency, it may also limit a franchisee's autonomy in making business decisions. Franchisees should carefully review the manuals and understand the scope of these operating standards before investing in a Cordova franchise.
