What This Means (2025 FDD)

Based on the 2025 Cordova Franchise Disclosure Document, several articles within the franchise agreement relate to the opening of a franchise. Article 4 is referenced regarding post-opening obligations, including communication of operating standards, marketing standards, approved vendors, and supplemental training. Additionally, Article 3 and 4 relate to assistance with signs, equipment, furniture, and fixtures. Article 4 also covers the initial training program that must be completed not earlier than 30 days prior to opening a Cordova Business.

The FDD also specifies that within 60 days of signing the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee must secure an Administrative Office location and lease that Cordova approves. Failure to do so may result in termination of the Franchise Agreement, with a 30-day cure period after notice from Cordova. The "Actual Opening Date" is defined in the FDD as the date the franchisee first advertises, offers, and/or provides services to the public concerning the Franchised Business.

These provisions outline the key steps and requirements for a new Cordova franchisee to successfully launch their business. Franchisees should pay close attention to the deadlines for securing a location and completing initial training, as failure to meet these requirements could jeopardize their franchise agreement. Understanding Cordova's standards for marketing, approved vendors, and operational procedures is also crucial for ensuring compliance and maximizing the potential for success.
