What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cool Binz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee in Maryland has three years to bring a claim under the Maryland Franchise Registration and Disclosure Law. This three-year statute of limitations begins from the date Cool Binz grants the franchise. This means that any legal action related to violations of the Maryland Franchise Registration and Disclosure Law must be initiated within this three-year period.
This provision is specifically designed to protect franchisees' rights under Maryland law. It ensures that franchisees have an adequate amount of time to discover and address any potential issues or violations related to their franchise agreement. This timeframe allows franchisees to seek legal counsel, investigate potential claims, and prepare their case without being unduly rushed.
It is important to note that this statute of limitations applies specifically to claims arising under the Maryland Franchise Registration and Disclosure Law. Other claims related to the franchise agreement may be subject to different limitations periods as outlined in the agreement or by other applicable laws. Cool Binz franchisees should consult with an attorney to fully understand their rights and obligations under the franchise agreement and Maryland law.
