What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cool Binz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Cool Binz has the right to specify the brands, types, makes, and models of computer systems and hardware that franchisees must use. This includes a compatible "back office" computer system, a point of sale system (if implemented), printers, peripheral hardware, archival back-up systems, internet access mode and speed, and security systems.
This means that as a Cool Binz franchisee, you may be required to purchase specific computer systems and hardware that comply with Cool Binz's standards. The estimated cost of the computer system is between $3,000 and $5,000. Franchisees must also maintain the necessary computer hardware to implement the COOL BINZ Software and any Required Software, complying with all specifications and standards.
Cool Binz also reserves the right to create additional proprietary software programs that franchisees must use. Franchisees are required to participate in any System-wide computer network and may be required to use it for various purposes, including submitting reports, viewing System Standards, downloading advertising materials, and communicating with Cool Binz and other franchisees.
As technology advances, Cool Binz may require franchisees to upgrade their hardware to meet changing software requirements, potentially incurring additional costs. While Cool Binz does not currently charge for software updates, they may require franchisees to update or upgrade their Computer System at any time during the franchise agreement, and there is no limit on the frequency or cost of these upgrades, although Cool Binz does not anticipate the cost of such upgrades to exceed $5,000 annually.
