What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cool Binz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Cool Binz may require franchisees to use specific internet and cloud-based services or subscriptions as the system and technology evolve. These services and subscriptions would be at the franchisee's sole expense. This means a franchisee must stay current with technology as Cool Binz dictates and bear the costs of these updates.

Cool Binz also mandates that franchisees maintain computer hardware necessary to implement the Cool Binz software and any required software, complying with all specifications and standards. Cool Binz reserves the right to create additional proprietary software programs, which franchisees must use in connection with their Cool Binz business. Franchisees are required to participate in any system-wide computer network, intranet system, or extranet system that Cool Binz implements.

As technology advances, Cool Binz may require franchisees to upgrade their hardware to meet changing software requirements. While Cool Binz software is currently web-based and updates are free, Cool Binz may require franchisees to upgrade their computer hardware, software, and web-based applications at their expense. Although Cool Binz does not anticipate these upgrades exceeding $5,000 annually, the actual cost will depend on the specific upgrades required, without limitation. This means that franchisees need to be prepared for potential technology-related expenses throughout the term of their franchise agreement.

Cool Binz also specifies that franchisees must subscribe to and utilize a fiber-optic, cable, or satellite high-speed internet connection and email network account with approved independent suppliers. Franchisees must use an email name approved by Cool Binz with the suffix "@cool-binz.com" for all business correspondence. Additionally, franchisees must use, subscribe to, and pay for a customized website connected to and managed by Cool Binz's website provider. Franchisees cannot implement their own website or URL for the Cool Binz business.
