Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Upon the expiration and renewal of your franchise agreement, you will not be required to pay the Initial Franchise Fee or Initial Package Fee, but you must pay our then-current renewal term fee, and you may be required by us to purchase new or additional equipment, at your sole expense.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cool Binz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may be required to purchase new or additional equipment when renewing their franchise agreement. While franchisees are not required to pay the Initial Franchise Fee or Initial Package Fee upon renewal, they must pay the then-current renewal term fee.

Cool Binz retains the right to mandate that franchisees purchase new or additional equipment at the franchisee's sole expense. This means that a franchisee might face significant costs at the time of renewal if Cool Binz determines that updated equipment is necessary for the continued operation of the franchise.

This requirement is not uncommon in the franchise industry, as franchisors often want to ensure that all franchisees maintain a consistent brand image and operational standard. However, it is important for prospective Cool Binz franchisees to consider this potential expense when evaluating the long-term financial viability of the franchise. Franchisees should inquire about the typical cost and frequency of required equipment upgrades to better prepare for these potential future expenses.
