What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cool Binz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Cool Binz is not obligated to spend any amount on advertising in a franchisee's specific territory. While franchisees are required to contribute 2% of their gross sales monthly to the Brand Marketing Fund, Cool Binz retains sole discretion over how these funds are spent. Cool Binz is not required to conduct advertising for franchisees or the system in their territory.
The Brand Marketing Fund is used to develop and distribute advertising on a national, regional, or local level. Cool Binz has the authority to determine the selection of advertising materials and programs. While Cool Binz aims to act in the best interest of the system, not all franchisees may directly benefit from these expenditures.
This means that while franchisees contribute to the Brand Marketing Fund, they have no guarantee that any of those funds will be used for advertising specifically in their territory. Franchisees are also required to spend a minimum percentage of gross sales on local advertising, with the percentage decreasing from 10% to 5% once their fleet of portable equipment containers is at least 80% rented. This local advertising must use Cool Binz's approved materials or receive written approval from Cool Binz.
