What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Cool Binz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not currently required to participate in an advertising cooperative. However, Cool Binz reserves the right to implement these cooperatives in the future and mandate franchisee participation. The specifics of the cooperative, including its area and membership, will be determined regionally based on where future franchisees operate.
Since Cool Binz does not have active cooperatives, the FDD cannot definitively state how much franchisees will be required to contribute if such cooperatives are established. Cool Binz, along with the franchisees who are members of the cooperative, will determine the contribution amount, with contributions made equally or on a pro-rata basis as decided by the cooperative. Company-owned stores are not required to contribute but may choose to do so. Cool Binz will administer these cooperatives, and they will operate under written governing documents available for franchisee review.
In addition to potential advertising cooperatives, Cool Binz franchisees must spend a minimum of 10% of gross sales annually on local advertising until their fleet of portable equipment containers is at least 80% rented. After that point, the required spending decreases to at least 5% of gross sales annually. Franchisees must use Cool Binz's approved advertising and marketing materials or obtain written approval for any other materials before use. Franchisees are also required to contribute two percent (2%) of their Gross Sales monthly to the Brand Marketing Fund.
