What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Cool Binz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must ensure their computer systems meet the requirements outlined in the System Standards. Cool Binz has the right to specify the brands, types, and models of computer systems and hardware that franchisees must use. This includes a compatible back-office computer system, a point-of-sale (POS) system (if implemented), printers, backup systems, internet access, and security systems. Currently, franchisees need a DSL or cable modem high-speed internet connection at their office site and a computer that meets the System Standards for handling Cool Binz software or other required software. Cool Binz estimates the cost of the computer system to be between $3,000 and $5,000.

Cool Binz may also require franchisees to upgrade their hardware to meet changing software requirements. While Cool Binz does not currently charge for software updates, they may require franchisees to upgrade their computer hardware, software, and web-based applications at the franchisee's expense. There is no limit to how often Cool Binz may require these upgrades. Although Cool Binz does not anticipate annual upgrade costs exceeding $5,000, the actual cost will depend on the specific upgrades required.

Furthermore, franchisees must use Cool Binz's designated software for business management and accounting (currently QuickBooks Online) and follow their specified chart of accounts. Cool Binz can change these requirements at their discretion. Franchisees are also required to participate in any system-wide computer network and use it in compliance with the standards and restrictions in the System Standards and Operations Manuals. This includes standards for data encryption and prohibitions against transmitting libelous or defamatory statements. Franchisees must also establish and maintain a social media presence in accordance with the System Standards.
