Who pays for the Computer System, Clear Pest Pros Software, and the Required Software?

We shall have the right, but not the obligation, to develop or designate: (i) computer software programs and web-based applications you must use in connection with any component of the Computer System, including the Clear Pest Pros Software, designated business management software and designated accounting software (the "Required Software"), which you shall install at your own expense; (ii) updates, supplements, modifications, or enhancements to the Required Software, which you shall install at your own expense; (iii) the tangible media upon which you record data; and (iv) the database file structure of the Computer System. You will be
responsible for the payment of all fees associated with the Required Software, Computer System, Clear Pest Pros Software and POS System.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Clear Pest Pros's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for covering the costs associated with the Computer System, Clear Pest Pros Software, and any Required Software. This includes purchasing or leasing the computer system and software, as well as paying all associated fees. Clear Pest Pros maintains the right to specify the brands, types, makes, and models of computer systems and hardware that franchisees must use.
Clear Pest Pros also has the right, but not the obligation, to develop or designate computer software programs and web-based applications that franchisees must use in connection with the Computer System, including the Clear Pest Pros Software, designated business management software, and designated accounting software. Franchisees are responsible for installing any Required Software, as well as any updates, supplements, modifications, or enhancements to the Required Software, at their own expense.
This means that a Clear Pest Pros franchisee will need to budget for initial setup costs related to technology, as well as ongoing expenses for software fees, updates, and potential hardware upgrades. The franchisee must also ensure their systems meet Clear Pest Pros's standards and specifications, and keep the computer system in good repair. Furthermore, the franchisee is responsible for the costs of complying with these technology requirements.
