Can the Clean Your Dirty Face franchisee operate other businesses?
Clean_Your_Dirty_Face Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
The term "Competitive Business" means any business operating, supporting, or soliciting, or granting franchises or licenses to others to operate, support or solicit, any business that offers facials and/or other skincare services (excluding any CYDF Facial Bars operated under a franchise agreement with us or our affiliate).
NON-INTERFERENCE. 7.B.
You further agree that, during the term of this Agreement, neither you, any of your owners, nor any of your or your owners' immediate family members will either solicit, interfere, or attempt to interfere with our or our affiliates' relationships with any customers, vendors, or consultants, or engage in any other activity which might injure the goodwill of the Marks or the Franchise System.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Clean Your Dirty Face's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is restricted from operating a "Competitive Business," which is defined as any business that offers facials and/or other skincare services, excluding other Clean Your Dirty Face locations operated under a franchise agreement with them or their affiliates. This restriction is in place during the term of the Franchise Agreement.
This means that while you are a Clean Your Dirty Face franchisee, you cannot own or operate a competing skincare business. This non-compete clause is fairly standard in franchising to protect the brand and prevent franchisees from directly competing with the system.
However, the FDD does not explicitly state whether a franchisee can own or operate businesses in completely unrelated industries. A prospective franchisee should seek clarification from Clean Your Dirty Face regarding whether they are permitted to own and operate businesses outside of the skincare or beauty industry during the term of their franchise agreement.
