Does City Wide require franchisees to complete the online City Wide YOU training program before initial training?

City_Wide Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Initial training is required for all new CITY WIDE franchisees, including new franchisees entering the CITY WIDE system through a transfer of a Franchised Business. CITY WIDE will provide mandatory initial training programs for three people: (1) Franchisee (or if Franchisee is not a natural person, for one (1) shareholder, partner, or officer of Franchisee as designated by Franchisee and approved by CITY WIDE) and two (2) other people of the Franchised Business in the Designated Territory. CITY WIDE may elect not to provide such initial training if CITY WIDE determines, at its sole and absolute right, that such training is not required. Training will not begin until Franchisee has obtained financing or shown sufficient assets to satisfy CITY WIDE of Franchisee's ability to meet its financial obligations under the Agreement, and Franchisee has started the online City Wide YOU training program.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must start the online City Wide YOU training program before initial training can begin. City Wide also stipulates that training will not commence until the franchisee has secured financing or demonstrated sufficient assets to assure City Wide of their ability to meet financial obligations under the franchise agreement.

This requirement ensures that franchisees have a foundational understanding of the City Wide system and business practices before attending the more comprehensive initial training. It also allows City Wide to assess the franchisee's commitment and preparedness before investing significant resources in their training.

For prospective franchisees, this means allocating time to complete the online City Wide YOU training program before the scheduled initial training. Franchisees should also ensure that they have their financing in place or can provide proof of sufficient assets to City Wide in a timely manner to avoid delays in starting their training. This pre-training preparation is a crucial step in setting up a City Wide franchise for success.
