What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, attending and completing the initial training program is mandatory for franchisees before they begin operating their franchised business. This initial training must be completed to City Wide's satisfaction within approximately 10 weeks of signing the Franchise Agreement. The franchisee, or a designated person such as an Owner, General Manager, or Director of Operations, must complete this program.
Before scheduling the initial training program, franchisees must first complete an online "City Wide University Training Program" at least one week prior. The initial training program itself consists of both classroom instruction and on-the-job training, conducted at a designated training facility in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The length and nature of the training may vary based on the franchisee's experience and ability. The training covers all major aspects of franchise operations, including financial controls, bookkeeping procedures, operational techniques, maintenance procedures, and implementation of City Wide's business concept.
If franchisees or their employees do not satisfactorily complete the training program, City Wide may terminate the Franchise Agreement. The course fee for the initial training program is included in the Initial Franchise Fee. However, franchisees are responsible for expenses incurred for additional managers or staff members attending training, as well as for travel, lodging, meals, and wages for any required additional training courses, seminars, and programs. City Wide also conducts initial on-site start-up assistance at the franchisee's location for up to 10 working days.
