What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee is required to obtain certain permits, licenses, and registrations to operate their franchise legally. Specifically, within fourteen calendar days after signing the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee must apply to all appropriate government authorities for the permits, licenses, and approvals needed to operate the franchised business within their designated territory. These may include a general contractor's license.
Before opening the City Wide franchise, the franchisee must provide City Wide with copies of all required permits and certifications for lawful operation. This includes building inspection reports and certifications from governmental authorities, confirming that all necessary permits have been obtained and operational requirements have been met.
Additionally, the City Wide franchisee must obtain fictitious or assumed name registrations as required under applicable law. If the franchisee uses a name containing "CITY WIDE" or any other mark, they must take action to assign that name registration to City Wide or its designee. Overall, it is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure they have all the necessary legal documentation to operate the business.
