What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are offered the right to operate in a protected territory, referred to as the "Designated Territory." This means City Wide grants franchisees the right to operate their City Wide franchise within a specific geographic area.
The FDD also indicates that the market served by franchisees is located in commercial and government office buildings, retail stores, and other commercial buildings within their Designated Territory. This implies that the protected territory aims to provide franchisees with a defined market area to focus their business development efforts.
While City Wide offers a protected territory, the FDD also notes that the market for commercial janitorial services, carpet cleaning, window washing, and maintenance services is highly competitive. Franchisees will compete with independent janitorial and maintenance services, as well as other franchise operations. Therefore, while the Designated Territory provides a degree of exclusivity, franchisees must still actively compete for business within that area.
