What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to spend a minimum of $1,200 annually on their own local advertising and promotion. This expenditure is intended to boost the franchisee's business within their specific territory. This local advertising spend is separate from any contributions the franchisee might make to the City Wide Marketing Fund, which is used for national and international marketing efforts.
This requirement ensures that each City Wide franchisee actively participates in promoting their services within their community. The franchisee has control over how this money is spent, but City Wide retains the right to approve all advertising and promotional materials to ensure brand consistency and compliance with their standards. This approval process requires the franchisee to submit materials to City Wide at least seven business days before use; failure to receive a response within that timeframe means the materials are considered disapproved.
In addition to the minimum local advertising spend, City Wide also collects a Marketing Fee of up to one percent of the franchisee's monthly Gross Sales, which goes into the Marketing Fund. Franchisees must also participate in any marketing or promotional campaigns conducted by City Wide unless they obtain prior written approval to opt out. Franchisees should factor these advertising costs into their financial projections and business plans.
