What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must provide written notice to City Wide of their desire to enter into a Successor Term no less than one year before the expiration of the current term. Upon receiving this notice, City Wide has sixty (60) days to respond to the franchisee's request.
This means that a City Wide franchisee needs to be proactive and plan well in advance if they wish to continue operating their franchise beyond the initial term. Failing to provide the required notice within the specified timeframe could jeopardize their opportunity for renewal. The sixty-day response window gives City Wide time to evaluate the franchisee's performance and compliance with the franchise agreement before making a decision about granting a Successor Term.
It's important for prospective City Wide franchisees to understand these timelines and conditions associated with renewing their franchise agreement. They should also be aware of the other conditions that must be met to be granted a successor franchise, such as the franchise agreement being in full force and effect and the franchisee meeting City Wide's then-current criteria for operating a franchised business.
