What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to use specific software programs for bookkeeping, accounting, and record-keeping. City Wide mandates that franchisees acquire and maintain licenses for the City Wide financial reporting and budgeting platform, the City Wide Bid Module, specified business intelligence and reporting software, and operations platform software. These licenses must be obtained directly from City Wide and are intended for use within the franchisee's office.
The purpose of this software is to establish and maintain a standardized bookkeeping, accounting, and record-keeping system that aligns with City Wide's requirements, which may be periodically updated. Franchisees are obligated to submit regular reports, forms, and records as specified by City Wide in the Franchise Agreement, the Operating Manual, or other written communications. All of these required reports must be generated using the mandated software programs.
In addition to the mandatory software, City Wide may also recommend the purchase of other software programs for use in the franchise office. This ensures that all franchisees are using compatible systems for financial reporting and operational management, allowing City Wide to effectively monitor and analyze the performance of individual franchises and the entire City Wide system. This level of standardization is common in franchising, as it helps maintain consistency and allows the franchisor to provide better support and guidance to franchisees.
By requiring specific software, City Wide aims to maintain uniformity and accuracy in financial reporting across all franchise locations. This enables City Wide to effectively monitor the financial health of each franchise and the overall network. For a prospective franchisee, this means adhering to City Wide's technology standards and utilizing the designated software for all bookkeeping, accounting, and reporting activities.
