What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Wide's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Washington Addendum modifies the Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise agreement, and all related agreements if the offer to sell a franchise is accepted in Washington, the purchaser is a Washington resident, or the franchised business is located or operated in Washington. This addendum forms an integral part of these documents, taking precedence over any conflicting terms.

Specifically, in the event of conflicting laws, the provisions of the Washington Franchise Investment Protection Act, chapter 19.100 RCW, will govern. This means that franchisees operating in Washington are afforded the protections and rights outlined in Washington state law, regardless of what the standard City Wide franchise agreement might state.

For a prospective City Wide franchisee in Washington, this addendum is crucial. It ensures that the franchisee benefits from the legal protections offered by Washington's franchise laws, which may be more favorable than the standard terms of the franchise agreement. Franchisees should carefully review the Washington Franchise Investment Protection Act to understand their rights and obligations.
