What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Publications's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are required to maintain comprehensive general public liability insurance against claims for bodily and personal injury, death, and property damage. The minimum liability coverage for claims is specified by City Publications and may change from time to time. Currently, the minimum liability coverage is $1,000,000.00.

In addition to general public liability insurance, City Publications franchisees must also maintain other types of insurance, including "All Risk" coverage, Workers' Compensation, Automobile Liability Insurance, and general property damage insurance. The "All Risk" coverage must be for full "replacement cost" coverage on all contents, including inventory, furniture, fixtures, equipment, supplies, and other property used in the operation of the franchised business. Automobile Liability Insurance must have a combined single limit of at least $1,000,000.00 for owned, hired, and non-owned vehicles.

City Publications franchisees must also secure insurance to provide coverage under the indemnity provisions set forth in Section 22.B. of the Franchise Agreement, as well as trucking, shipping, freight, or F.O.B. insurance coverage necessary to provide coverage for any loss or damage to direct mail advertisement pieces in transit. Franchisees are also required to maintain business interruption insurance in amounts and with terms acceptable to City Publications. These insurance policies must name City Publications as an additional insured and/or loss payee and contain a waiver of all subrogation rights against City Publications and its successors and assigns.
