What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Publications' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not required to operate from an approved location. City Publications allows franchisees to operate their franchised business from their homes or any other location, provided it complies with zoning and local ordinances. City Publications does not select the site for the franchisee.

After signing the Franchise Agreement, franchisees are expected to be operational within six months. The time between signing the agreement and opening the business is typically around three months. Factors that could affect the start of operations include finding a suitable office space if a home office is not feasible and completing the initial training program.

This flexibility in location can significantly reduce overhead costs for franchisees, as they are not obligated to lease or purchase a commercial space. However, franchisees must ensure their chosen location meets all legal requirements and provides a suitable environment for conducting business. This also means the franchisee has the responsibility of finding a location that works for them, whether it be a home office or a separate commercial space.
