What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Publications' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is paid directly to the franchisor, CITY PUBLICATIONS FRANCHISE GROUP, INC.

For a new City Publications franchisee, the initial franchise fee for the print advertising franchise model is $29,000. This fee grants access to proprietary materials, an initial supply of sales materials, a designated website with a link to the franchisor's site, and exclusive rights to distribute card decks and other approved products within the franchisee's territory.

The franchise agreement defines "Franchise Fee" as the initial fee paid to the Franchisor at the time of signing the agreement. This fee is non-refundable, which means that once paid, it will not be returned to the franchisee under any circumstances.

Understanding where your money goes is crucial when starting a franchise. Unlike the franchise fee, other initial investment costs like real estate, rent, and utility deposits are paid to third-party vendors, not directly to City Publications. The refundability of these other expenses depends on the policies of those vendors.
