Do any officers of City Publications own an interest in any approved suppliers?

City_Publications Franchise · 2025 FDD

Answer from 2025 FDD Document

Although currently we (nor any Affiliate) do not receive revenue or other material consideration from any third-party suppliers as a result of purchases by you or any other franchisee, we retain the right to do so in the future. There are no other approved suppliers in which any of our officers owns an interest.

We estimate that less than 5% of your required expenditures for leases and purchases in establishing your Franchised Business will be from required sources we designate and less than 10% of your expenditures for operating expenses will be purchased from us, our Affiliate, or a designated supplier.

We do not provide or withhold material benefits to you (such as renewal rights or the right to open additional Franchised Businesses) based on whether or not you purchase through the sources we designate or approve, however, purchases of unapproved products or from unapproved suppliers in violation of the Franchise Agreement will entitle us, among other things, to terminate the Franchise Agreement.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Publications' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, currently, none of its officers hold any ownership interest in any of its approved suppliers. However, City Publications retains the right to receive revenue or other material consideration from third-party suppliers in the future as a result of franchisee purchases.

This means that while there are no apparent conflicts of interest at present regarding supplier relationships and officer ownership, this could change. As a franchisee, you might be required to purchase from suppliers that provide some form of benefit to City Publications in the future.

It is important to note that City Publications estimates less than 5% of your required expenditures for leases and purchases in establishing your franchised business will be from required sources they designate. Additionally, less than 10% of your expenditures for operating expenses will be purchased from City Publications, their affiliate, or a designated supplier. While City Publications does not provide or withhold material benefits based on whether you purchase through designated sources, violating the Franchise Agreement by purchasing unapproved products or from unapproved suppliers can lead to termination of the agreement.
