What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Publications's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must maintain comprehensive general public liability insurance. This insurance protects against claims for bodily and personal injury, death, and property damage related to the operation of the franchised business. The minimum liability coverage required is One Million Dollars ($1,000,000.00). City Publications specifies the minimum liability coverage amount from time to time.

In addition to general public liability insurance, City Publications franchisees are required to obtain other types of insurance, including "All Risk" coverage, worker's compensation, automobile liability insurance, and general property damage insurance. These policies must name City Publications as an additional insured and/or loss payee and include a waiver of subrogation rights.

Maintaining adequate insurance coverage is a standard requirement in franchising, designed to protect both the franchisee and the franchisor from potential financial losses due to unforeseen events. The franchisee is responsible for the cost of all required insurance policies. Prospective franchisees should factor these insurance costs into their overall investment and operating expense projections.
