What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Publications's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, none of the licensees of its predecessor, Pride of the City, Inc., are still in operation. Pride of the City, Inc. offered licenses for businesses similar to City Publications franchises from March 2002 until April 2004.
This information is relevant for prospective City Publications franchisees as it provides insight into the history of the franchise system. Knowing that none of the previous licensees from the predecessor company are currently operating might raise questions about the long-term viability or success rate of that earlier business model.
A potential franchisee might want to investigate further into why those licensees are no longer operating. Understanding the reasons behind the failure of these past businesses could help a franchisee better assess the risks and opportunities associated with investing in a City Publications franchise today. It would be prudent to ask the franchisor about the reasons for the failure of the predecessor's licensees and what changes or improvements have been implemented to increase the likelihood of franchisee success in the current City Publications system.
