What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Publications' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the initial franchise fee is not refundable. The franchise fee covers access to proprietary materials, an initial supply of sales materials, a designated website with a link to the City Publications website, and exclusive rights to distribute card decks and other approved products within the franchisee's territory.
Other items listed in the estimated initial investment chart are paid to third-party vendors, and the refundability of those items is determined by those vendors, not City Publications. This means that while the franchise fee itself is non-refundable, franchisees may be able to recoup costs associated with other investments if they meet the third-party vendor's refund criteria.
Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the non-refundable nature of the initial franchise fee and ensure they are fully committed to the City Publications franchise before paying this fee. They should also inquire with third-party vendors about the refund policies for other required investments to understand their potential financial exposure.
