What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Publications' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the franchisor's intranet and Internet usage rules, policies, and requirements. City Publications retains the sole right to market on the Internet, including all use of websites, domain names, URLs, linking, meta-tags, marketing, auction sites, e-commerce, and co-branding arrangements.
City Publications also maintains an Internet website at www.citypublication.com that provides information about the City Publications system and the services that franchisees and the franchisor provide. City Publications will establish a website for the franchisee's franchised business with a link to their website, and the franchisee is responsible for maintaining the website created for their franchised business. City Publications may require franchisees to prepare all or a portion of the page at their expense using their template if they include information about the franchisee's franchised business on their website.
Furthermore, franchisees must obtain the franchisor's consent before establishing a presence on, or marketing using, the Internet for the franchised business. If City Publications approves an independent website for the franchisee, they may require that the site only be accessed through their home page. Franchisees may also be required to provide content for City Publications' Internet marketing.
