What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to City Publications' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must use the domain name provided by the franchisor for all email and other electronic communications related to the franchise. This policy ensures consistent branding and control over communications associated with the City Publications brand.

This requirement means a franchisee cannot use a personal or self-created domain name for business-related email or electronic correspondence. All materials provided to advertisers and prospects must also meet the criteria set by City Publications, and any email advertising must be approved by the franchisor.

Additionally, City Publications retains ownership of any email addresses of residents within the franchisee's exclusive territory that the franchisee may receive. The franchisee cannot use this list without express approval from City Publications. City Publications has the right to manage email communications to these individuals on behalf of the franchisee, with the franchisee compensating City Publications for these services according to their fee arrangements.
