What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to City Publications' 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchise fee is a flat fee that is not directly affected by demographics. The standard initial franchise fee for a new franchisee is $29,000. This fee grants access to City Publications' proprietary materials, a designated website, exclusive territory rights, the Quick Start Program, initial training, and on-site sales assistance. The franchise fee is due upon signing the Franchise Agreement and is nonrefundable.
However, demographics do play an indirect role in the City Publications business model. Franchisees must utilize City Publications' mailing list for distributing card decks, and while City Publications does not guarantee the exact demographics of a particular mailing list, they will use their best efforts to ensure the franchisee's mailing list includes the desired demographic market. This suggests that the franchisee's ability to target specific demographics can influence the effectiveness of their advertising campaigns and, consequently, their revenue.
City Publications also offers a print advertising franchise model with a booklet of advertisements to reach smaller towns and territories. For existing franchisees, there is no additional franchise fee to add this model. For new franchisees, the initial franchise fee is $29,000. This offering indicates that City Publications recognizes the importance of tailoring its services to different market demographics and geographic areas. Prospective franchisees should inquire about the availability and cost of demographic data and mailing list customization to ensure they can effectively target their desired customer base.
