What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Circle K's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the purchaser must comply with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations, ordinances, and rules from all governmental authorities regarding the operation of their Circle K business at the premises. This includes, but is not limited to, laws and regulations about weights and measures. The purchaser is responsible for the safety and well-being of their employees and customers at the Circle K location.
Additionally, the purchaser is responsible for compliance with all laws applicable to the Point of Sale (POS) system or other technology used in the business. This encompasses data protection and security laws, as well as Payment Card Industry (PCI) and Europay, MasterCard and Visa (EMV) compliance standards.
Circle K and the purchaser both agree that neither intends to violate any statutory or common law. If any part of their agreements is found to violate any law, that specific part will be considered inoperative, but the rest of the agreement will remain in effect. This ensures that the Circle K franchise operates within the bounds of the law, and any unintentional violations do not invalidate the entire agreement.
