What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Circle K's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, failing the final exam or any portion of the on-the-job training may require the franchisee to retake the training or complete additional training as determined by Circle K. The franchisee will be charged $2,000 per week for any required retraining.
Failure to successfully complete the training program can lead to the termination of the franchise agreement. In the event of termination due to unsuccessful completion of training, the franchisee is responsible for repaying all expenses incurred by Circle K, including investments made in the franchisee's property.
This aspect of the Circle K franchise agreement highlights the importance of thorough preparation and engagement during the training process. Franchisees should allocate sufficient time and resources to ensure they, their operations manager, and their store manager can meet Circle K's training standards. The financial implications of failing to complete the training successfully can be significant, potentially leading to the loss of the franchise and substantial financial liabilities.
