What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Circle K's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are generally required to participate fully in sales, loyalty, and marketing programs initiated by Circle K to promote and enhance the business of all Circle K stores. However, a franchisee's participation may be excused in writing by Circle K. These programs may include gift certificates, coupons, catalog and other direct mail, telemarketing, interchange programs, combination selling programs, or advertising in the yellow pages with other franchisees.

This means that as a Circle K franchisee, you should expect to implement and adhere to the marketing and customer loyalty programs that Circle K introduces, unless you obtain written permission to be excused. This requirement ensures brand consistency and aims to enhance the overall performance of the Circle K network.

It is important to note that while participation is generally mandatory, there is a provision for written exceptions. A prospective franchisee should clarify with Circle K under what specific circumstances an exception might be granted and what the process is for requesting such an exception. Understanding the scope and nature of these programs is crucial for budgeting and operational planning.
