Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You may not relocate your site without our prior written consent. If we consent to relocation of your Store, you must construct the new Store in accordance with our current specifications and at your sole cost and expense, including a relocation fee of 50% of the Initial Franchise Fee you paid when you signed the Convenience Store Franchise Agreement as reimbursement for expenses we have incurred in connection with the relocation.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Circle K's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees who wish to relocate their store must first obtain written consent from Circle K. If Circle K approves the relocation, the franchisee is responsible for all costs associated with constructing the new store according to Circle K's current specifications.

In addition to construction costs, Circle K also charges a relocation fee. This fee is equal to 50% of the initial franchise fee that the franchisee originally paid when signing the Convenience Store Franchise Agreement. This relocation fee is intended to reimburse Circle K for expenses they incur related to the relocation process.

It's important for prospective franchisees to understand that relocating a Circle K store involves significant financial obligations. Franchisees must be prepared to cover both the construction costs of the new store and the relocation fee payable to Circle K. This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as franchisors typically want to ensure that any relocation maintains brand standards and covers their administrative costs.
