Under what conditions might a Cinnabon Required Trainee not be required to attend the Management Training Program again?
Cinnabon Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
All individuals attending our Management Training Program must be at least 18 years old and must have management experience as a restaurant owner and/or operator in order for them to follow along with the pace of training that this program requires. If any of your Required Trainees have previously attended and successfully completed our Management Training Program and you or they have not defaulted under any other franchise agreement with us, we may, in our sole discretion, determine that such Required Trainee is not required to attend the Management Training Program again or will be required to attend a limited version of the Management Training Program.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Cinnabon Franchise Disclosure Document, a Required Trainee may not have to attend the Management Training Program again if they meet specific conditions. If a Required Trainee has previously attended and successfully completed the Cinnabon Management Training Program, and neither they nor the franchisee are in default under any other franchise agreement with Cinnabon, then Cinnabon may, at its sole discretion, determine that the Required Trainee does not need to attend the Management Training Program again. Alternatively, Cinnabon may require the trainee to attend only a limited version of the Management Training Program.
This policy provides some flexibility for experienced individuals or existing franchisees looking to expand. However, the decision to waive or modify the training requirement rests solely with Cinnabon. This discretionary power means that even if a trainee meets the stated conditions, Cinnabon is not obligated to waive the training.
For a prospective Cinnabon franchisee, this implies that while prior training experience can be a benefit, it does not guarantee a reduction in training requirements. Franchisees should be prepared for all Required Trainees to complete the full Management Training Program, regardless of prior experience, and factor the associated time and potential costs into their business plan. It would be prudent for prospective franchisees to discuss specific cases with Cinnabon during their due diligence to understand how this policy might apply to their situation.
