What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Cinnabon Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee operating an Express Bakery within a Host Facility may face specific limitations on their ability to terminate the franchise agreement. Specifically, if the franchisee fails to comply with the terms of the Host Facility's franchise agreement, or if that agreement is terminated or expires, the Cinnabon franchisee may not be able to terminate their agreement.

Additionally, Cinnabon can restrict a franchisee's termination rights if the Host Facility's brand deteriorates in quality or reputation. If Cinnabon, in its sole judgment, believes that its association with the Host Facility's brand is damaging or may damage the Cinnabon brand or its trademarks, the franchisee's termination rights may be affected. This clause gives Cinnabon significant discretion to protect its brand image.

These conditions primarily apply to Express Bakeries located within another business, highlighting the interconnected nature of the two franchises. A prospective franchisee should carefully evaluate the terms and stability of the Host Facility's franchise agreement, as its status can directly impact the Cinnabon franchise. This is a notable risk for franchisees choosing this type of location, as their franchise's fate is tied to the performance and adherence of another business to its franchise obligations.
